Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Athletic League

Coaches / Volunteers : The Parsippany PAL will require all volunteers to:
  1. Complete a Volunteer Form
  2. Complete a Code of Conduct Form
  3. Provide proof of completing a coaching certification course.  Courses that currently qualify under NJ???s ???Little League Law??? are: The Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic, N.Y.S.C.A. clinic or Soccer ???E??? class license.
A coaching certification course helps the PAL maintain lower insurance rates and also protects the volunteer.

FYI - On May 12, 1986, New Jersey became the first state in the nation to pass legislation which protects volunteer athletic coaches, managers, and officials from lawsuits.  Commonly referred to as the "Little League Law" (2A:62A-6 et. seq.), this legislation extends partial civil immunity to volunteers who have attended a "safety orientation and training skills program."

Once these mandatory requirements are fulfilled a background check will be conducted.  After the b/g check is completed a photo ID on a lanyard will issued to the volunteer.  The volunteer will be required to wear this ID at all PAL activities and events
